Welcome to “Life In The Fast Lane” a blog representing the business of Fast Lane Transport, Ltd. located in Edmonton, Alberta. We are a freight trucking company serving Canada‘s four western provinces with Hotshot Trucking Services. We also provide In-City Courier Services covering the Greater Edmonton metropolitan area.

Fast Lane Transport is a family owned company started by Layne Petersen in 2000. My name is Deborah Petersen, Layne’s wife, and I am the primary blogger for this site. You won’t find me discussing business topics only — as important as this is to our company’s success — rather, I will also share with you some of my other interests including yard art, garden art, and details about what is going on in my home city, Edmonton.

I must admit that we are extremely proud of our Edmonton Oilers, the team which produced the likes of Gretzky, Messier, and Lowe, but I am also interested in hearing your comments about what you like and where you live. Feel free to send to me a personal email and I will try to get back to you as soon as I can. Who knows, but I may make mention of your blog or web site on this blog too!

Sorry I haven’t had a chance to catch up with you lately…..been studying up a storm….passed one more exam for work, one more to go, then I can have my life back…..and won’t know what the hell to do with myself then…..lol !

I would love to have a coffee with you sometime to catch up. Call me when you have time….I’ll email you my telnum, just in case you don’t have it.

Hi Deborah,

I’ve only been blogging since January, and I have a question about something. I tried looking it up on Google, but I still don’t really understand it. You have a link that says “Do Follow”…how does this benefit the site? Does it increase spam to your site? I have WordPress and I think I read that WordPress has “No Follow”. Anyway, I was just wondering what you could tell me.

Dear Deborah, I just found your site as I was looking for a better concrete mix for my stepping stones. I have enjoyed working with my home based business with making my stepping stones & statuary. My problem is, I am having complaints that some of the stepping stones are falling apart. Is there anything special you put with your mix to keep them strong & durable? Nan

it was very interesting to see the different mosques wishing women had the same freedoms as men in them. thank you. what is your interest in them? would be very interesting to also see other houses of worship in the world such as churches, synagues, native people’s meeting places etc.

Thanks Cisela. My interest was purely and strictly for their architectural beauty, as I am fascinated by beautiful and unusual architecture. I attempted to avoid religious connotations as much as possible, being a Christian myself.

I actually do have intentions to write future articles about the architecture of churches, etc, but there is very much work involved. There is no reason whatsoever as to why I began with the mosques to start with, other than stumbling across a couple of photos which gave me the inspiration.

There are many horrors involving sexual slaves, and the subject is not discussed on the internet very widely. Those articles were my attempt to create awareness.
