Blog Review Carousel
Welcome back!
Ever heard of ‘Paid Review’? The concept that sites offering Paid Review try to sell you on, is that they will provide you with reviews for your site imparting precious backlinks and hoards of traffic from well known, high traffic sites and even from some with high Page Rank. Photo Dustbunny44
Expect to pay anywhere from $20 to $200 per review for your site for that ‘valuable linkback and flood of traffic’. It may be great for the person getting paid for the review, but for the person forking out the dough — well as they say, a fool and his money are soon parted.
I can’t justify this concept myself. Why should another feel such a cut above you that they can actually charge you for a review? As my friend Kuanyin from Blog-Blond states and I echo, “Be good to one another. Or even better, give someone a review for the heck of it and surprise them.” She’s written a post on reciprocal blog reviews with a link to a site where you can submit yours for those that will exchange reviews at Make Money Online with Court.
And so this happens to fall into the scheme of things for a meme I was tagged for by Jan Pieter Marbun at Only God Keeps Me Going for a reciprocal blog review. I’ve never written reviews in the past — I’ve focused my attention towards writing dedicated posts for blogs with similar content, or artists I’ve come across, so it seems that this is my time, and high time I did.
True to my fashion, I haven’t followed this meme with the original scheme of things (are you actually surprised?), so visit Jan at his site for his post on this meme to see how it’s actually been set out. I’ve also added the banners for each site to familiarize you with their blogs, as well as to break up the doldrums of a purely text only post (something I simply can’t bear to do!).
Here are the destructions to participate …
Create a post with at least one paragraph explaining how you joined the Reciprocal Review Carousel. Please do not copy from my post anything more than the list of blogs to review and instructions for this meme. I don’t wish to be spanked by search engines for duplicate content, and I’m sure neither do you.
Remove the Bottom Review. Add your own review for your site and those you would like to add at the TOP. Write your own review with a link to the site reviewed, with at least 2 sentences about the site.
Add the following side-notes below the review:
Recommended by: Use the name in the list with their anchor text.
Reviewed by: YOUR Anchor Text — link your anchor text to your site. Use anchor text that you would want for the link to YOUR blog, which will help your search engine rankings. Mine is:
Life, arts, oddities, and discoveries at Fast Lane, and my URL is http://www.lifeinthefastlane.ca/
It’s not recommended to have more than 30 outbound links from any page to specific sites to prevent penalties for link farming. You and I both know you’re not a link farm, but search engines don’t have that human insight to discern that.
Copy the entire list for blogs, along with the person that ‘recommended’ the site. Use their name for their anchor text. Use your own anchor text for your own name for ‘Reviewed by’.
And here we go …
Life in the Fast Lane

Only God Keeps me Going…
A spiritual site for which Jan Pieter Marbun writes on his reflections for life, internet, life style, love, dreams, networking, friendship, and spirituality. I particularly enjoyed his post for I Can Do It An excerpt from the post reads:
Reflections in Life:
Somebody wants to share his or her dreams with you.
Somebody is alive because of you.
Somebody needs your support.
Somebody will cry when they read this.
Somebody needs you to have faith in them.
Somebody trusts you.
Somebody hears a song that reminds them of you.

Life is just around the corner…
This is an uplifting and inspirational site, where Sophiagurl writes some delightful posts such as The Power of the Hug, Embrace Imperfection, and my personal favorite — Why Men are Never Depressed. An excerpt taken from the post:
Car mechanics tell you the truth. The world is your urinal. You never have to drive to another gas station restroom because this one is just too icky. You don’t have to stop and think of which way to turn a nut on a bolt. Same work, more pay. Wrinkles add character. Wedding dress $5000. Tux rental-$100. People never stare at your chest when you’re talking to them.

Because the environment exerts such control over the adaptations that arise by natural selection-including the co-adaptations of different species evolving together, such as flowers and pollinators-the kind of organism that would fill a particular environmental niche ought to be predictable in general terms. An example of this process of adaptive radiation, or filling out of environmental niches by the development of new species, is provided by Australia.

Once you have provided reviews for the sites let them know, and perhaps they will join the carousel and reciprocate. It’s your opportunity to receive traffic to your blog, some linky love, and perhaps make some new friends in the process. Have fun!

hey Deb.. thank you so much for being so kind to me and providing another link…:) this is a real good idea to review and recommend blogs… I’m definitely gonna check out all of these sites and will reciprocate soon … but where will I bring that uniqueness from??
What a lovely list of great blogs and you really have taken your time to write and interesting introduction to every one of them. It’ll take some time, but I’ll try to get through most of them.
Btw: Thanks for plugging me too – I am flattered!
That’s great Pearl, and I’m only happy to send some well deserved recognition your way. To change things to prevent duplicate content, just write your own introduction, like I wrote about people paying for blog reviews. It seemed a fitting topic to me for this.
While you’re visiting the sites, just take notes to write your review with your own take of it. Of course it will be similar, because we’re writing about what the blogs have to offer, but it won’t be word for word.
Renny, I was happy to give you some recognition as well
You have a very interesting site, and I think this will help others to discover what you have to offer as well.
Great to hear you want to play along. It will be beneficial to everyone involved
