Lil’Bit, the miracle cat from Arizina US, born with 2 faces and 2 brains has survived his first 7 months. He can both sleep and be awake at the same time — a feat many of us wish we could master ourselves.

Lil’Bit was not expected to inhabit this world for long at first birth — he has survived against all odds, as his owner recognized the grand wonder in this little creature and took great care in raising him.

He has three eyes — two of which have joined to form 1 large eye — 2 mouths, 2 noses, one pair of ears, and his vet believes he may even have 2 brains. Apparently one side of this extraordinary feline can remain awake while the other side sleeps.

Lil’Bit’s mother Lil’Pine and his 4 siblings — 2 brothers and 2 sisters — who entered the world 7 months ago are no different than any other standard feline. None were affected by nature’s peculiar twist of hand other than Lil’Bit.

The unnamed cat’s owner told a local newspaper, “I called a kitten rescue service and they told me not to expect him to survive. But I didn’t see why he shouldn’t be given the chance to live. Everything is possible.”

“He finds it hard to walk normally so there was a litter problem because he couldn’t do it himself. So I hit on the idea of using premature baby diapers on him. It seems to work well.”

With the tender love and care Lil’Bit has received from his owner, he appears to be getting along just fine.

Although very rare, this isn’t the first time a cat has been born with this curious form of anomaly. Gemini was born in Roseburg, Oregon with 2 faces — 2 mouths, 2 tongues, 2 noses and 4 eyes in June 2005.

“I kind of feel sorry for her, because I can’t know for a fact if she’s going to live or die.” said owner Lee Bluetear. “If she makes it, she should be a perfectly normal and healthy cat. Other than having two faces.”

Veterinarian Alan Ross said he couldn’t estimate the kitten’s life span, and only gave her little more than a 10% chance of survival.

“With the three of our veterinarians here, we have a combined total of 50 years of experience. We have never seen anything like this.” said Ross.

Gemini’s owner Lee said she was much stronger and drank more milk than in her first few days. Ross said that if the kitten was to survive, it may require surgery to remove the extra tissue in between 2 two mouths. No updated information was found to elaborate on Genmini’s survival since.

Gemini was born unto a full-size father and a miniature mother.

Kitten with 2 Heads
Yet another kitten with 2 heads, this little creature Tiger was born in 2006 with 2 mouths that meow in unison, 2 noses, and 4 eyes. The vet said the kitten could be just fine. It later began nursing just as its other regular siblings had.

Cat with 2 Heads
Yet another cat with 2 heads, this interesting creature’s middle eye is
abnormal, and its 2nd mouth does not have a tongue or lower jaw.

  2. He made it ’til seven months?,, But yeah, being able to sleep and stay awake at the same time is a true blessing.. ;)

  3. damn that is just scary. As messed up as it is, maybe scientists could study these cats and determine if they have multiple personalities, since they have 2 brains..would kinda make sense right? Ever see the vid of the indian child that had 8 limbs? Soon we’ll be doing things like this intentionally in a petri dish. Never though I would see something like this, good post

  4. This is a miracle but is also scary. I can’t bear to look at the pic any more than is necessary.

  5. This is a very hard picture to look at – but the read was so fascinating! Still, the cat looks like what would have been in that microwave in gremlins had it been opened it up – yuck!!

  6. My apologies to all who commented on this post. There had been difficulties that had made the comment form to admin unaccessible as a hit and miss when this article was published. Deleting the former video appears to have resolved the issue.

Thanks for your comment and heads up Jase. Although we had 2 separate sources, the image does appear exactly the same as your source, but without the KNS insignia. In fact, KNS News was not cited anywhere. I have since removed the image to be safe.

Djahna, the statement that Lil’Bit had survived his first 7 months was meant to imply he is still living and is currently 7 months old :-)

Thanks Online. Yes, I did see and read about the poor little girl born with 8 limbs. Her surgery to remove the additional limbs was successful, and she appears to be recovering very well :-) Although it has a happy ending, I didn’t wish to publish anything about human life that could be conceived as human sensationalism, just as I didn’t report about the ‘tree man’ that’s been in the news recently.

Awww, that’s sad Betshopboy. I’m happy you were able to enjoy the miracle birth all the same :-)

Thanks Odd News, and the photo will no longer be available on this site.

  7. awww that is so sad I hope that the cats baby does not look like that

  8. It’s an extremely rare occurance Takiya, so I would say it’s relatively safe that no offspring would be affected by the same condition.

  9. LOL what a miracle cat. Great post.
