Cop Shoots Jar from Skunks Head – Doesn’t Get Sprayed

A hungry skunk that didn’t have the wisdom to prevent getting its head stuck in a salad jar was clever enough to make its way to a police station parking lot for help last Thursday, in Carrollton Township, near Saginaw about 80 miles (129 kilometers) north of Detroit, Michigan.

Officer James Kellett spotted the skunk and wanted to help the poor creature who would surely perish under its predicament but was wary of the skunk’s spray, so he grabbed a BB gun used in hunters’ safety courses and shot at the jar from a safe 40 foot distance.
Fortunately the cop had impeccable aim — the shots cracked out and shattered the jar, leaving a glass collar remaining around the skunk’s neck, and the skunk ran off. You’d run too without giving thanks with police taking aim at your head.
“I didn’t want to use deadly force, and it is a residential area.” Kellett told The Saginaw News. “The way he was when he took off, he was able to eat, breathe and spray — and do anything else skunks like to do.” reports Metro.
Officer Kellett was only grateful the skunk didn’t spray, and the makers of T. Marzetti’s salad dressing are sending the officer coupons good for free dressing as a reward.

Well it’s a happy ending, but I have to say I’m not a real skunk fan unless I’m beating you at cribbage.
