A quickie today to thank you for stopping by — I bring you ‘Einstein, the smartest parrot on earth.’
Many are not aware how intelligent our feathered friends can be. Parrots are capable of the intelligence of a 5 to 6 year old child. They are in constant need of companionship. If you are considering a parrot as a pet, please do not get one if you do not have the time to devote to them, or they willl suffer severely for it.

That’s really interesting. I had heard a story on NPR a while back about a similarly intelligent parrot. The parrot could do simple math and knew hundreds of words. Amazing when you think of the size of the head and brain inside compared to ours.
I agree with the point above, the only aspect of their intelligence that puzzles me is that are the owners simply great at teaching them linguistic skills, or are they just genetically ‘better’ at it than normal african greys.
Parrots are very smart I had one for many years, he is gone now and my little dog and I still miss him. He was a small amazon named PJ. When I use to take my dog for a walk he would call the both of us until we returned to the house. He could not stand to be alone. Miss the little fellow.
