The babies are just adorable! Hedgehogs are very versatile creatures and can be found in all climates. I remember seeing a long earred one in the middle east. Not as cute as these guys though!

You're mistaken about hedgehogs not being cuddly. In 1998 my husband gave me a hedgehog for Mother's Day. His registered name was Prickle Pickle Pig. We called him prickles. If the weather permitted he went everywhere I did, even camping. He usually road in the pocket of a hooded sweatshirt in cool weather. In the summer time he road in the pocket of an apron I made for him. It wasn't uncommon for him to curl up in my hair, while I was at my computer or while I was doing my housework. He would sleep there for hours at a time. He was also fond of curling up in my lap with our dog, who he would allow to groom him. She thought he was her baby. Unfortunately he contracted pneumonia from smoke inhalation, when our house burned down. After months of antibiotics and breathing treatments he died in his sleep. I was heartbroken. I've had many small pets, if I ever get another it will be a hedgehog.
