Spacehoppers Break World Record
Remember Spacehoppers from the 70’s? I don’t! But they’ve certainly made a come back.
Metro.co.uk states that 600 people bounced their way on Spacehoppers into the record books for mass Spacehopper bouncing on Sunday on London’s Millennium Bridge — often coined the Wobbly Bridge due to its swaying movement.
Not only did they break records, but they invented a new game after the event — Spacehopper Frisbee in Kennington Park.
Apparently they’re attempting to break the record even further with 1,000 people bouncing for male cancers.
London’s Millennium Bridge is the first pedestrian only bridge in more than a century, crossing river over the Thames in central London, spanning 325 meters (more than 1060 feet).
Who knew that Spacehoppers were such a rage? TST Outdoor Toys claims they’ve supplied to Celebrity Big Brother and Eastenders with their bouncing Adult Retro hoppers.
Even garden centers are selling them. Some are as large as the people that ride them!
