One of the world’s zaniest horses does everything but talk — but that doesn’t stop him from trying. Patches is one pampered male — a human trapped inside a horse’s body. He rides in a coordinating convertible Cadillac, eats cheeseburgers, drinks apple juice, and sleeps in a queen-sized bed.
Equine entrepreneurs and brothers Robert and Herbert Thompson are just a couple of good ole boys and their pony, doing what comes natural.
“Every time we’d start to go anywhere, he would act like he wanted to go with us.” says Herbert.
“So I said why don’t we fix the car so he can get in and out. We fixed the car, and sure enough …”
Robert says “While he’s riding in the car, he’s watching the scenery go by.”
“We’d be out riding with him in the car, get hungry and want us a burger.” says Herbert. “When we pulled in to get us one, well naturally the first thing we thought about was Patches, reckoning he would want one.”
“He has eaten as many as 5 cheeseburgers.” said Herbert. “He doesn’t care much for coke, but he loves his apple juice.”
“He really likes TV a lot — but he likes Westerns.”
“I’ll send him to the fridge to get me a beer. He’ll open the door on the fridge, reach in and get a beer and bring it to me.” says Herbert, as Patches begrudgingly gives it up to him.
“He answers the phone, but he doesn’t actually talk.” adds Robert. “You can put the phone up to his mouth and he moves his lips.”
Living the life that Mr. Ed, the talking horse would envy, Robert tucks Patches in to his queen-sized bed as the madcap stud pulls his blanket up close with his teeth, all snuggled in for the night. Just another regular day in the life of the Thompson boys.

I’m surprised they didn’t get pulled over by cops with a friggin horse sitting in the backseat of their car.

Perhaps that comes along with the community widely aware of Patches and appreciating him for his uniqueness.
I wouldn’t think it is very good to feed hamburgers to a horse, Locum. Rather ironic to feed a cow to a horse. But people feed their dogs all kinds of things in the name of love, when they’re literally killing them with kindness.

I agree, I don’t believe it’s very healthy to feed a horse burgers. Countless ‘people kill their pets with kindness,’ unaware that they’re doing more harm than good with foods they give them.

But i agree that it’s not healthy to feed a pony burgers or meat – their digestive systems aren’t designed to cope with it – so please “Don’t try this at home!”
cool horse and funny but although everyone thinks that its unhealthy to feed a horse burgers and it probably is but at least he’ll have a good life and enjoy it id rather eat burgers than the crap the horses have to eat even if it threatens my health
I love it wish my miniature horses would do all that but first I would have to get past my husband to let them in the house.
That video has just made my day and has been sent to all my co-workers although I do get a funny feeling about the guys who look after the horse; they just don’t seem right to me!
i think it is not a good thing the horse shoud be in a fild not in a car a bed or a house unless it is a horse house.
That horse is going to colic and die, their digestive system cannot break down meat
