Worlds Smallest Girl Jyoti Amge
At merely 1 foot 11 inches (57.5 centimeters) tall and fully grown at the age of 15, Jyoti Amge of Nagpur, India, is smaller than the average 2-year old and the Worlds Smallest Girl according to the Indian Book of Records. Born December 16 1993, this remarkable girl weighs only 11 pounds (5 kilos), a result of Achondroplasia — the most common form of dwarfism — and will never grow any taller.

Jyoti is too small to use a normal sized knife and fork, so she eats off special plates, sleeps in a tiny, custom-built bed, and has to have her clothes and jewelry custom-made for her.
Even bathing is done on a miniature scale, requiring specially-made steps to help her get into the tub and a small bucket and jug to wash herself.

This extraordinary little girl actually goes to a regular school at Bhartiya Vidya Niketan in Nagpur, where her fellow classmates of her own age treat her as one of themselves as she sits at her custom built miniature desk and chair.

Jyoti is far from unhappy about her size and enjoys the celebrity status her height has brought her. “I am proud of being small. I love all the attention I get. I’m not scared of being small and I don’t regret it. I’m just the same as other people. I eat like you, dream like you. I don’t feel any different.” she says.
Her size comes with benefits — Jyoti is a mini-celebrity in her home city, where people flock to see her, and some even treat her as a goddess. She has even recorded an album with her favorite Indian pop star, the bhangra / rap singer Mika Singh.
Little Jyoti has tall ambitions to one day break into Bollywood as an actress. “I would love to work in a big city like Mumbai, act in films and travel to London and America.” she said.

“I can’t separate myself from her even for a single day. I love her very much. She makes me proud.” says her 52-year old father Kishanji. “Lots of gurus come to see and bless her. They pray for her happiness and long life.”
“When Jyoti was born, she seemed quite normal. We came to know about her disorder when she was 5. We consulted a specialist and he said she will be this size all of her life.” her mother Ranjana adds.
“Jyoti is small, yet cute, and we love her very much.”

I admire her self-confidence despite of her being “dwarf”, still she can do thins like other normal teenagers can do. I’m sure she’s happy because she has a family that loves and supports her.

I think she is a remarkable young girl. A teenager has enough stress bestowed upon them by their lives and this little girl has that and more but she still manages to hold her head up high! I think she is amazing. She’s beautiful despite her height. I think she is gorgeous because of her height as well.
I admire this young girl and her courage. I was told, in 1991, that i had a “form of dwarfism”, though the doctor did not specify what type or what tests could offer me more information. I am of average height, at 5′4″, although my body is unusually small for my age and genetics. I want to learn more about dwarfism. This young girl proves that it is far from being an impairment.

I wasn’t just struck by her size, but her beauty as well.
Wow. Just wow. It’s not often that you find a girl with that amount of courage. It’s not often that you find anyone with a smile so radiant, so full of life.
People may say that she’s barely a quarter the size of a normal human, but her heart, her spirit, is more than most people of “normal” size have altogether. Jyoti is such an inspiration. I hope that she will continue to live out her dreams in such a way that they exceed the smallness of her body.

Regarding “World’s Smallest Girl” broadcast by National Geographic (NGS), the doctor is to blame for the parents’ decision to stop proper treatment for Jyoti. Yes, the parents are ignorant but, for God’s sake, there are topical and internal sedatives that could have been used prior to the blood draw that would have averted what looked like(and I’m sure felt like)ranchers branding cattle. I’ve seen enough blood draws to recognize that these medical people had no plan as to how they were going to conduct the procedure on such a unique subject. It’s a disgrace that ALL the adults involved (including NGS) failed the young girl and as a result she will be crippled for the rest of her life. It makes me angry.

I think Jyothi is a beautiful young lady. She has a spirit that is remarkable, for this reason she will continue to be blessed by the Gods.
I just finished watching the National Geographic special. She is a smart, courageous, beautiful young lady.wish her well. I believe there is a doctor in this world to assist her. I cringed when they hospital attempted to use that gigantic needle to take her blood which frightened her and her parents.There is a doctor in this world to assist Jyoti with proper medical supplies and care. There are defintely needles smaller than that.

I just got through watching the national Geographic special about her and let me tell you I was crying when they were drawing blood from her. She was screaming and crying. That poor girl! Why didn’t those doctors give her something to numb the pain? I wouldn’t want to go through the surgery either. I hope she finds a good doctor that will help her and not cause her so much pain. she is a brave sweet girl and I hope she gets to become an actress. She is a goddess
